Aliquando Chamber Choir presented their Spring concert ‘Music Spread thy Voice Around’ at the Christ Church Centre in Henley recently in aid of Riverside Counselling Service.
Under the direction of Musical Director Anne Evans and choir Accompanist Ian Westley the concert ‘Music Spread Thy Voice Around ‘offered the audience a unique blend of musical contrasts, pairing pieces with differing styles, themes, and genres. The diverse programme featured songs from renowned composers/performers, including Handel, Arthur Sullivan, Eric Whitacre, Neil Diamond and Carly Simon. The choir rose splendidly to the challenge and together with great solos from Dawn Murton, Ian Westley, Dan Evans and Gill Aitchison, delivered a lively yet classical performance that offered something for everyone, making it perfect for family entertainment.
Anne said, “Aliquando were delighted that Riverside Counselling Services accepted an invitation to attend Aliquando’s concert and take the opportunity to speak to the audience about the amazing work they do. Personally it was a great eye-opener, for although I knew of their existence I had no idea of the range of help they offer, and that their door is open to anyone who needs their help, regardless of the cost.
The audience and choir were fascinated and I’m glad to say the Retiring Collection duly showed their appreciation.”
