We’re excited to unveil our new logo which has been designed with the help from the winner of a design concept competition we ran in partnership with The Henley College and local graphic designer Ben Hargreaves from in8 Creative Design Co.
Student Mio A’court’s design was selected as the winning entry in the competition which invited first and second year art students to come up with a design that reflects the charity’s work and values. The winner was decided by a panel of judges from Riverside and Ben Hargreaves.
This is only the second logo in our 37-year history and for the first time we have a strapline “Helping you navigate life’s changing currents” which perfectly sums up our charity’s mission and values.
Ben Hargreaves said, “It was a real pleasure to work with Riverside Counselling and The Henley College on this project. Mio’s original concept really stood out and provided a strong foundation to develop the new identity. My role was to take that initial idea and refine it into a logo that feels modern, distinctive and professional, while still reflecting Riverside’s warmth, values and the important support it provides to people in our community. It’s been great to be involved in creating a new look for a charity with such a long history and important role in Henley and South Oxfordshire.”
Riverside Counselling CEO, Sophie Wellings said, “Our new logo represents an exciting new chapter for Riverside Counselling, and we’re proud that its story began with the creativity and talent of local college students. The competition gave us the opportunity to involve young people in shaping our identity, and the winning design really captures our identity. I’d like to thank Ben for his pro bono work to develop the concept into a modern and vibrant logo and strapline that reflects our values. We’re delighted to unveil a logo that feels fresh, meaningful and truly connected to our community.”
